Here is how I did it. I used a small gauge large round loom, and two strands of yarn. The first 10 rows were a garter stitch (knit 1 row/purl the next), the I did 27 rows of single knit. After the 27th row I moved the loop from peg one over to peg two, and knit off. Then did the same with the loops on peg 3 to peg 4...and so on around the loom. After that I did one row of single knit only using the pegs that had a loops on them. Finally used the good ol' gathering method to remove. Moving the loops over, and doing one final row on every other peg, makes the gathering a little less bulky at the end. You could add a tassle or pom pom, even a flower to dress this quickie up. Frazier, isn't in to those things, so I didn't do it with this one.
These hats work up nice and quickly, and are very thick and warm to wear.
Stay warm!
