COLTS fly swatter

Check this out....I LOVE IT! It's a COLTS flyswatter. I just finished this one this morning. The design is by Dawn Marie Able. She has a couple different pc Yahoo groups. Her website is http://www.adorabelcrafts.com/store/ . What a talented designer!!! I followed the pattern for the most part. Only after I was finished I realized that when doing the bottom of the horseshoe it was just a little different from one side to the other because I mirrored the right side by looking at the left, and not really following the pattern. It worked out just fine. Another thing is that I had stitched the two pieces together before I realized I had not done the french knots on the horseshoe....so I glued tiny little pearl beads instead. It came out great. THANKS DawnMarie for another great pattern.

tea time

This is a first for me in some ways. I've heard about, and seen patterns for tea cups. This was the first one I did. It was fun! ...and a learning experience. It was the first time I stitched a back to something so small, and there are better places to start stitching the two pieces together than the outside edge. Doing it the way I did made it a little difficult to do the inside part of the handle. Oh well, it still came out kind of cute. This tea cup is for a birthday gift in a birthday magnet club. I chose pink because it was a preference of the birthday girl. I sure hope she likes it....

New Magnets

Here are pictures of two new magnets I completed last night. One is a patriotic heart that I am sending to Terry for the patriotic magnet exchange, the other is this kitty magnet I made for Kim Galla's birthday. I really like both of these. One of these days I need to take some time and make myself a magnet or two. I don't think that's ever been done! LOL

crazy tbc (tissue box cover)

I'm in this exchange where one time a month for four months you send your partner a "Crazy Tissue Box Cover". This is what I am sending my partner. It's actually a pattern for a Koala bear piece, but I couldn't find the right yarn for the bear. So I used white. I'm calling it a baby polar bear! LOL Of course I found the yarn I needed for the Koala after I finished it. It's supposed to be a "CRAZY" cover right. Well this one sure is!

my first pc bookmark

I finished my first plastic canvas bookmark ever!!! It was fun...and didn't come out to badly if I do say so. My sister in law, Margo, sent me a pattern book last week. She said she saw it and thought of me because I'm having so much fun doing the magnets. I know, I need to expand. LOL Anyway, I picked one of the easier looking ones for my first bookmark. I hope to do a more involved one soon. Guess I'm not brave enough right now. Next up is a wreath ornament for an exchange, then a few more magnets...and another bookmark. WEEEEEEE what fun! It doesn't take much for me these days!

Pete the cat

My son Frazier had to come up with a stuffed animal cat for school. After alot of thinking, several different ideas, this is what he chose to do. With this little hand crank knitting machine, he made this tube (the body) and stuffed it. Then made 4 little feet balls, and I sewed them to the "body". He glued wiggle eyes on, and some felt to make the face, and two ears out of felt too. I sewed on the ears. For a tail, together (yes my son did some crocheting) we chained a tail, and slip stitched up the side to give it a little shape, and attached it to the "butt" of the cat. He got this really tiny cat collar and put a bell on it, then put that around Pete's neck. WA LA Pete was born. Aint he cute?!?

Easter magnet exchange

Yesterday I received a magnet from Cathy W. for the Easter magnet exchange. Check this out. Didn't Cathy do a great job! THANK YOU for a great magnet...

This one gets me all caught up on birthday club magnets. Now it will be working on a bookmark (my first one), and some extra magnets for miscellaneous exchanges. I also want to get busy on this blanket I'm knitting for Frazier. Come back soon for some updates on that one. It's been a loooong time project for some reason. LOL

more pc magnets

I've really been enjoying pc magnets the last month. Matter of fact I haven't done a dishcloth in weeks. I'm trying to catch up on magnets in this birthday club I signed up for. Hopefully soon I will be caught up. I think there is only one bday in May, so I should be able to get a couple cloths done soon. Anyway, I tried a little bit more difficult pattern (at least it is to me). I wanted to share a few pictures of my recent magnets. Here they are...

I LOVE plastic canvas

I'm trying to branch out, and do some things I haven't done in a while. One of them is plastic canvas. In the last couple of days I joined a new Yahoo group called "We Love PC". It's already been a fun group. I joined their birthday magnet exchange too. Soooo I've been working on a magnet today. It's a cute little piggie. Here's a picture of it. It's not to bad considering how long it's been since I did pc. I'm sure the more I do, the better the work. Now I have to decide what's next. Do I do another pc magnet, work on this dishcloth that's almost done...or work on an afghan I started a loooong time ago. So many crafts, so little time. LOL

The Invention Convention

My sons third grade class had an Invention Convention where they had to pretend as if they were deserted on an island, and had to use the basic principles of simple machinery to invent something that would help out. Frazier created a dolly named the Hello Dolly using the ideas of screws, wheel and axle, and lever. The purpose of the Hello Dolly would be to help move heavy objects, like firewood, around from one place to another. Here is a slide show of pictures from the big event.
